Listen. I know how it feels to be broke. Honestly, I know how it feels to be completely broke with no job. I’ve been there. A few years ago, I had lost my job with the state and I just could not find a job. My accounts were getting lower each day and I had to quickly figure out how I was going to keep paying my bills. Things were not going well for me but I was determined to find a way to survive with my baby boy. As a mother, nothing feels worse than not being able to provide for your child. If you’re in that space right now or have been there then you know how it is too. I want to give you some tips to prevent yourself from getting back into that space.

When I eventually made the leap into being a stay-at-home single mom, I didn’t have a plan. Fortunately I already had income streams in place but I had just walked away from my primary income source. There were times when things got rough but I fell back on these tactics to get me through.

Thankfully things have stabilized and I wanted to share some inspiration for the mom who may find herself in that space right now; in a space where you have a bill due and you just don’t know what you’re going to do or you lost your job and you can’t really see how you’re going to make it.

Here’s what to do when you’re completely broke with no job

It’s a great idea to talk about your situation with someone that can help you work through it. Sometimes other people may have a perspective or idea that you hadn’t considered and may be beneficial. We can’t do everything by ourselves and it’s nothing wrong with reaching out to someone with better financial skills than you. We all have strengths in certain areas. Finances may not be yours, and that’s okay. Get the help you need and do what you need to do to take care of yours.
