Building a successful online business is not for the faint of heart. In the beginning I spent every extra moment I had doing something for my business. I didn’t go out on the weekends, I was filming content. I didn’t watch the latest reality shows, I was editing content. Let’s just say I made some sacrifices to get the results I wanted back then. Listen, the dream is real….but the work is required. Work on the business and work on yourself. Theses are the entrepreneur movies that kept me inspored.
When I finally came up for air after working 2 years straight, I realized that lack of confidence was holding me back from taking my business to the next level. That’s when I dove into personal development. I kept myself motivated and engaged in learning the skills of entrepreneurship.
I was always taking classes, reading books, and listening to podcasts to expand my knowledge. Now on my Netflix and chill nights entrepreneur movies are my continued education of choice. Movies are not only entertaining but, I’m always watching for teaching moments and helpful anecdotes I can apply to my business.
Although I could run off a long list of good movies for entrepreneurs, these are some of my favorite for female entrepreneurs and business owners.
Little
What it’s about: Little is about a successful entrepreneur finds herself back in the body of her 12 year old self dealing with the challenges that got the best of her in middle school. One incident ruined her confidence and changed who she became.
What I got from it: Too many times the authenticity of who we truly are is diminished by insecurities, childhood trauma and negative past experiences. We unknowingly allow those things to affect our current reality. We must heal old wounds, overcome underlying fears, and not allow outside influences define who we are. It’s important so we can live out our life’s vision the way God intended.
Watch it you are looking for a little sassy comedy.

He finds himself experiencing various circumstances and setbacks while raising his son and trying to complete a competitive internship in hopes of obtaining a job at the end. He works to sell medical equipment for. commission only, experiences homelessness, and raises his son all while trying to pursue his goals.
What I got from it: Sometimes it takes sheer determination and persistence to truly accomplish your dreams. Your desire to succeed has to outweigh your doubts. It’s a wonderful example of how anything is possible with unwavering faith and hard work.

The movie Showcases the importance of having a support system in life and business because the overlap can be overwhelming.
What I got from it: Staying true to yourself and what you stand for is the foundation of success. Authenticity over everything! You have to define your brand core values and keep them at the forefront so that you stay true to the vision you have for your brand. That will separate you from the competition. That will help you sort through the great opportunities for the right opportunities.

Molly’s Game

Instead of staying stuck she reinvented herself and built a poker empire running multi million dollar games. Her hustle became a lifestyle where she found herself rubbing shoulders with the Hollywood elite.
What I got from it: One of the main themes I noticed in this movie was that the ability to move from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm is so essential to success. The power of perseverance can literally be life changing. Additionally, having a long term vision for your life and being prepared to pursue that relentlessly can be the difference between success and failure. She ends up hiring a retired man to help out and his commitment to excellence become life changing.
What I got from it: The messaging here was all about balance. Learning to juggle the unexpected responsibilities that come success can be a lot. Learning the deal with them while still being available for your family is a skill. For me this was a testament to making sure that your support system is solid and that they are happy and taken care of. Considering them in the moves you make….It’s important to make sure you don’t get so caught up in running your business that your personal life is failing. Balance as best as possible is key.
